One-Night Stand

One-Night Stand 1600x2400

For the fans of Friend with Benefits.

After meeting up with old friends for dinner, Elise Phillips is reunited with Luke Long.

She hasn’t seen him in ten years, but he’s still as gorgeous as ever.

In college, she managed to avoid him, but now, she gives in to her needs.

After all, it’s only a one-night stand.

One-Night Stand is about what happened between chapters Two and Three of Friends with Benefits.

Excerpt:

Elise high-fived Luke and turned to finger-wave good-bye to good ole Danny and Weasel. Once they were out of hearing range, she said, “Assholes. Serves them right for being sexist.”

Luke put his arm around her neck, pulling her toward him, and kissed her forehead. “You did great, Lise.”

Elise froze at the contact, not knowing how to react. She’d promised Rachel and herself that she wouldn’t sleep with Luke. But he was warm and smelled great, and she couldn’t deny that her belly did a flip-flop accompanied with a flood of heat down below.

Rachel was right. Elise got horny when she was drunk, which was thanks to the number of drinks their competitors had had to buy. And her vagina certainly didn’t care that Luke was a womanizer. Elise couldn’t lie that she was attracted to all that maleness.

Dark hair, dark eyes, tall, and built. She’d have to be deaf, dumb, and blind not to be attracted to him. And the longer she hung out with him, the more she wanted him.

Damn her libido and lack of a sex life.

But it turned out, she didn’t have to do anything. Luke had already let her go, like his affection toward her was no big deal.

He grabbed the pile of cash on the edge of the pool table. He counted the bills and handed her half. “Fifty dollars isn’t very much. We should have bet more.”

Elise snatched her money from his hand and put it in her back pocket. “Nah. Those guys looked like they wouldn’t have settled for losing a large sum of money. It was more about beating them.” She picked up her drink with top-shelf vodka in it. “Plus, if you add in all the alcohol, they paid a lot more.”

“True.” Luke looked down at his watch. “It’s starting to get late.”

She was filled with disappointment. She wasn’t ready for the night to end. She didn’t know how to explain it, but she just knew she didn’t want to leave Luke’s company yet.

Unless she left with Luke.

That was silly. Despite Luke’s occasional flirty jokes, he hadn’t actually hit on her.

Plus, you weren’t ever going to go home with him anyway. Remember?

Shut up, brain.

On that note, it was perhaps a good time to leave.

“You’re probably…” Elise trailed off as she noticed a beautiful woman watching Luke like he had the secrets to making her orgasm.

“What?” Luke asked, looking over his shoulder to see what had caught her attention.

“Nothing,” she said, grabbing his hand and pulling him toward the bar. “Let’s do one last shot before we leave. Neither of us can drive anyway.”

He chuckled. “Very true.”

They reached the bar and had to wait to squeeze past the crowd surrounding it. The bar and grill was mostly bar now that most of the grill crowd had already left.

“What do you want?”

Luke shrugged. “You pick. It was your idea.”

“How about a Big O or a Death By Sex?”

He raised a brow.

Yeah, she didn’t know what had come over her either.

Luke leaned in close and whispered in her ear, “How about both?”

Elise almost moaned. God, she wanted both, too. But the real things.

She nearly turned and kissed him, but the bartender slapped her hand down on the counter.

“What are you two going to have?”

Luke met Elise’s eyes. “We’ll have two Big Os and two Death by Sex.”

She swallowed as her face got hot, and she fought not to fan her cheeks. She turned her head to the bartender because the intensity in Luke’s eyes had shot all the way down to her vajayjay.

The bartender smirked. “Looks like someone’s getting lucky.”

Elise started to shake her head to tell the lady that they were just flirting when a throaty yet feminine voice said, “I’ll take one of those.”

Luke and Elise looked to see who had spoken. It was the chick who had been watching Luke.

She was beautiful with thick brown hair, blue eyes framed in dark lashes, big and pouty lips, and a set of boobs that had to be fake. Not that guys cared about that.

Elise wanted to punch her in the face.

Can’t she see that Luke is with someone?

Sure, they weren’t together, together, but this hussy didn’t know that.

The bartender cleared her throat. She was standing there with one eyebrow cocked and an impatient look on her face.

Luke shrugged. “Sure. Get the lady her own.”

Elise gritted her teeth while their shots were being lined up and poured.

The alcohol was pushed toward each of them as Luke laughed at something the hussy had said to him.

Luke threw money on the bar and picked up the first shot. Elise and the hussy followed as Luke said, “To good sex.”

“To great sex,” the hussy corrected.

Luke clinked his glass against hers and laughed again.

Elise threw back her shot. Before Luke was even finished turning toward her, she downed the other one, too.

“Damn, Lise. You were thirsty.”

Yeah, thirsty for blood.

Luke watched her as he took his second shot.

She was being irrational and overreacting. She had no claim on Luke. She looked up at him and smiled. “Sorry, I couldn’t wait.”

The hussy put her hand on Luke’s arm. “Thank you for the shots. Can I buy you one now?” she said coyly.

Elise tried not to gag.

“What do you have in mind?” he asked.

“How about I give you a Blow Job?”

That’s it.

She could pretend she was talking about the shot, but they all knew what she really meant, and Elise had had enough.

Elise pushed her way in between the two of them. She was just about to tell the bitch that, if anyone was going to give Luke a blow job, it was going to be her.

But Luke brought his hands down on Elise’s shoulders and pulled her back against his body. “Thanks,” he said, “but we’d better get going.”

The hussy looked to Luke and Elise and back to Luke. She shrugged. “Your loss.” She spun on her stilettos and sauntered away.

Now that it was the two of them alone, Elise felt stupid. Luke had to know that she was jealous. Thanks to the alcohol, she didn’t have a full-on case of embarrassment, but she’d been drinking long enough to know she was going to feel like a fool tomorrow once she was sober again.

Might as well face him now while she was still drunk. She turned around to look at him, and his hands dropped off her shoulders. She missed his touch.

She met his eyes, expecting him to be upset, but he was grinning.

“What’s so funny?” She scowled at him.

He tried to straighten his face. “Nothing.”

She sighed. “Go on, tell me.”

His lips twitched. “If I didn’t know better, I would say you were jealous.”

She could either deny it or admit it. She decided to take the high road. “Maybe I was.” Okay, so maybe not that high. She pointed a finger at him. “But I shouldn’t be.”

Luke held out his hands. “Babe, hello? Look at me. You’d be crazy not to be jealous,” he teased.

Elise laughed, grateful that he was joking about the situation and making her laugh about it.

He grabbed her hand. “Come on. I’ll get us a couple of cabs. Neither one of us is in any shape to drive.”

They were almost to the front door when a young guy who looked barely old enough to drink started sneaking up behind someone she assumed was his friend. He put his finger up to his lips to the person across from his friend. Then, he pulled away the stool that was behind his friend, so the friend would fall on his butt when he went to sit down. But, when the prankster backed up to sit on his own stool, he missed and fell on his ass. Karma was a bitch.

Luke and Elise busted out laughing as the guy’s tumble pushed them back toward the wall. People rushed to help the fallen guy, so Elise ended up with her back against the wall and Luke plastered to her front. But they were both still so amused by the prank gone wrong that neither one of them cared.

The gathering around them thinned, and they slowly stopped laughing. But Luke didn’t move away. He put his hands on her hips as his face grew serious.

“What’s wrong?”

He shook his head. “I wouldn’t have gone home with her.”

“What?”

“The girl. At the bar. I wouldn’t have gone home with her. Even if you weren’t here.”

Elise didn’t know what to say. She just stared at him.

The corner of Luke’s mouth twitched. “I just wanted you to know.”

And that was when Elise grabbed his face and kissed him.

He hesitated at first, seeming to wait to see if she was okay with the kiss even though she’d initiated it. But, when she licked the seam of his lips and he understood that she was for real, he kissed her back, taking control.

His tongue swept her mouth. He tasted like alcohol and sin. She wanted to eat him up. She slipped her hands underneath his shirt. His skin was smooth and hot, and she wanted him naked.

There was a shout from across the room, but it was enough for Elise to remember that they were still in the bar and definitely not alone.

Luke pulled away and looked down at her, breathing hard. “Holy shit.”

Elise sucked on her bottom lip and smiled. “I think we’re going to need only one taxi.”
