On Sunday morning we had agent send us a partial request. (This was an agent we queried before we found out our mistakes. We did the right thing and queried her when we actually thought the manuscript was complete.)

It’s pretty exciting, but at this point we are in panic mode to get the book edited. We honestly didn’t think it would happen so soon. Yikes! As I write this I am laughing, but it really isn’t funny. It’s overwhelming. So overwhelming I don’t have much to blog about. Boring is me.

Today I did discover some threads on Absolute Write Water Cooler. If you are a writer or an author and have never been there it has a lot of information. And most of the people are super supportive. It’s nice when people you’ve never met can brighten your day.

The lesson I learned today is, I think we’ve been sweating this editing thing almost too much. We can’t eliminate everything from our manuscript or we risk losing our voice and the voice of our characters. I think the key word is moderation. Just like most things in life. Except cheese. One can never have too much cheese. The only thing we can do is take it one day at a time. Or one chapter at a time.
