The My Immortals series by Carolyn Jewel is one our auto-buy paranormal romance series (one of us even owns them in both paperback and e-book), yet not many people know about it. For example, Dark Lover by J.R. Ward has over 130,000 ratings on Goodreads, Slave to Sensation by Nalini Singh has over 23,000, Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris has over 297,000, and Night Pleasures by Sherrilyn Kenyon has over 35,000.

My Wicked Enemy, the first book in the series, has only 528 ratings. Which is crazy, because they’re hot, sexy books about witches, demons, mages, and did we mention the hot sex? The chemistry between the hero/heroine, especially the first two books, is sizzling. We believe it’s simply because people just don’t know about them. Plus, her historical romance novels are more popular, and historical and paranormal are two very different romance sub-genres that many readers do not cross over into.

My Wicked Enemy starts with the heroine, witch Carson Philips, on the run from the mage who has held her captive for years. Her only hope is the sexy hero, demon warlord Nikodemus, who happens to want Carson dead. Of course, he finds himself attracted to her, even though she’s his enemy. Or is she? When the mage that has imprisoned her wants her back, Nikodemus must fight to protect her.

In this series, demons are the protagonists and mages are the antagonists. It’s a different spin on paranormal characters, but pretty easy to follow so you don’t have to create a whole new world in which the characters live. They are very enjoyable and worth reading more than once.

If you find your paranormal to-be-read list a little low, or just your TBR list in general, you should check it out. You won’t be disappointed.

Don’t miss Free Fall, a novella between books 4 and 5 in the series. It’s short, but hot.
